Job description

Reporting jointly to the VP & Associate General Counsel, Retail Advice & Solutions, Investment Solutions, and Sun Life Health at Sun Life, as well as the CFO at Dialogue, you will play an integral role in advancing the company’s top priorities. These include supporting Go-to-Market strategies, Talent & Culture, Privacy, Regulatory matters, and Governance.

This position is part of Dialogue’s leadership team and will work closely with legal, compliance, privacy, risk, and other enabling functions at Sun Life.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Providing sound legal advice to the executive team on strategic matters and leading negotiations when required.
  • Supporting Dialogue’s leadership on corporate governance and liaising with the Sun Life Corporate Secretary team.
  • Setting priorities, managing, coaching, and developing the Dialogue Legal team.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and monitoring regulatory changes in healthcare and privacy.

We'd love to hear from you if you have :

  • 10+ years of experience in industry and law firms.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to navigate a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) and a good standing bar membership.
  • Experience in a public company is an asset.
  • Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in commercial contracts, privacy, governance, and employment law.
  • Strong communication skills in French & English.
  • Experience in healthcare regulation or technology is a plus.
  • Comfort with hybrid work : 3 days / week in Montreal office.

Please note, bilingualism is essential as we serve across Canada, requiring communication in both French and English.
