Job summary

DRAINVILLE LTD in York, ON is seeking a General construction labourer who is self-motivated with good interpersonal skills to join our team. The position offers seasonal employment or full-time work, with day shifts from 07:00 to 17:30 and outdoor site conditions in mind.

You will assist heavy equipment operators, help with pipe alignment during pipeline construction, and level earth to fine grade specifications.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related industry experience preferred.
• PPE training and Fall Arrest Protection Training.
• CSTS Certificate, Driver’s License (Class 3 or D) and WHMIS Certificate required.
• Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Willing to work long hours outdoors, underground, and in confined spaces.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate will be required to complete personal protective equipment (PPE) training as well as a Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
• The candidate must have a Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, a Driver’s License (Class 3 or D), and a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate should be reliable.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must be willing to work underground.
• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must be familiar with concrete saws, jackhammers, compactor and sledgehammer.
• The candidate must be skilled in the construction of industrial, commercial, and institutional structures, as well as water mains.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

• The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced busy environment.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must perform manual dexterity tasks.

Own tools/equipment

• The candidate must have their own steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, and safety vest.
