Job summary

Save-On-Foods Merritt, BC is hiring a General Clerk/Cashier to support multiple departments including grocery, front end, and deli. Evening and weekend availability is preferred as part of a friendly, high-volume team.

You will operate a cash register, share product knowledge with customers, keep areas stocked and presented, and ensure a safe, sanitary environment. Retail experience is an asset and a positive, go-the-extra-mile attitude is rewarded.

Qualifications

• Retail customer service experience preferred.
• Evening and weekend availability preferred.
• Experience handling payments and operating a cash register.

Responsibilities

• Operate a cash register and handle payments accurately.
• Share product knowledge with customers.
• Ensure the department is well stocked and presented.
• Maintain fresh display and safe, sanitary work areas.
• Handle customer inquiries and provide a positive experience.
• Clean equipment and work area.

We are hiring for a General Clerk/Cashier to work in various departments at our Save-On-Foods location in Merritt, BC. Departments include grocery, front end, and deli.

Open evening and weekend availability is preferred.

You will be responsible for:

• Going the Extra Mile for our customers and fellow team members.
• Operating a cash register.
• Sharing product knowledge with customers.
• Ensuring the department is well stocked and presented.
• Ensuring only the freshest products are displayed.
• Handling customer service inquiries and providing a positive customer experience.
• Cleaning equipment and work area to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Using a variety of equipment, including knives.

You have:

• A strong work ethic and “let’s get it done” attitude.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.
• Retail customer service experience (considered an asset).

Compensation Details:

$18.25 - $21.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
