Job Overview

The successful candidate will work in a hybrid setup in Edmonton, Alberta, evaluating large, complex property loss claims (including commercial, condominium, and construction claims). Responsibilities include loss investigation, negotiating settlements following provincial licensing requirements, maintaining production levels, and fostering customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze experts’ reports
• Direct independent experts
• Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities
• Manage litigation disposition plans and budgets
• Accurately record file activities and transactions
• Maintain expense accounts
• Collaborate with managers to maintain client relations
• Work with all facets of the insurance community, including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel, and regulators

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in large loss, commercial, and condominium claims handling
• Background in construction and property, with expertise in project management, quantification, and appraisal
• Experience in interpreting commercial policies and making market recommendations
• Active adjuster license or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designation
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel regularly to loss sites
• Strong report writing skills
• Team player with excellent customer service skills
• Adaptability to a dynamic environment with career growth opportunities
