Job Description

The successful candidate will be a General Claims Adjuster for the Technical Services Team and will work in a hybrid setup in Mississauga, Ontario. They will evaluate multi-line claims with a focus on property (commercial and personal lines) claims through loss investigation, and be responsible for negotiating settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining adequate production levels and customer relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze experts’ reports
  • Select and direct independent experts
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities
  • Secure and manage litigation disposition plans and budgets
  • Record file activities and transactions accurately in Crawford and Company and client systems
  • Maintain accurate expense accounts
  • Work with manager to maintain client relations
  • Liaise and collaborate with all facets of the insurance community, including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel, and regulators
Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of claims handling experience in large loss, commercial claims, and liability
  • Construction and property background, specializing in project management, quantification, and appraisal (preferred)
  • Experience in commercial policy interpretation and making recommendations to the market
  • Licensed or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designation
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Team player with outstanding customer service skills
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for career growth
