Base pay range

Our national client is experiencing tremendous growth, and they are now looking to add a General Accountant to their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will support the day-to-day accounting operations, including the month-end close duties and financial reporting requirements. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will receive hands-on mentorship and play a critical role in ensuring accuracy and compliance within their ERP system. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of accounting principles and procedures, with the ability to think outside the box and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Main responsibilities include :

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and special projects
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end reporting
• Assist with construction projects and WIP account
• Prepare tax remittances and filings (monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Support CRA sales tax audits and ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations
• Assist with annual financial audits and other periodic financial reviews
• Collaborate with senior management on financial strategy and performance tracking
• Provide financial input on new systems and project implementations
• Work with internal stakeholders to support business growth and operational initiatives

Qualifications

The main qualifications for this role include :

• Post-secondary education in finance and / or accounting
• CPA designation complete or in progress is considered an asset
• Good knowledge of Canadian GAAP required
• Minimum 4 years of progressive work experience in accounting
• Excellent communication skills, in French and English, both written and verbal
• Proficient in Excel
