Job description

The Division of Gastroenterology at the University of British Columbia (UBC), in partnership with St. Paul’s Hospital, is seeking a Gastroenterologist with specialized expertise in Clinical Nutrition to join our dynamic and growing team. This full-time position will involve clinical care, academic contributions, and collaborative interdisciplinary work within one of Canada’s leading institutions in digestive health.

The successful candidate will hold a primary academic appointment in the Department of Medicine at UBC and will provide patient care at St. Paul’s Hospital, a teaching hospital renowned for innovation and excellence in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services at St. Paul’s Hospital, with a focus on nutrition-related disorders (e.g., malabsorption, IBD-associated malnutrition, intestinal failure, enteral/parenteral nutrition support).
  • Work collaboratively with the nutrition support team, including dietitians, pharmacists, and allied health professionals.
  • Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
  • Develop and/or participate in academic research or quality improvement initiatives related to nutrition in gastrointestinal health.
  • Contribute to the division’s goals of service excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation in care delivery.

Qualifications
