Liburdi Turbine Services provides mechanical and metallurgical engineering services specifically tailored for the gas turbine industry. This allows us to perform an independent analysis of problems and, where required, to modify or redesign components. Our expertise lies in the fields of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, stress analysis, metallurgy and mechanical design as they apply to aircraft and land-based gas turbines. We are currently seeking candidates who are qualified for the role of Gas Turbine Repair Engineer. The role of Gas Turbine Repair Engineer reports to the Senior Engineer. Liburdi Turbine Services offers competitive wages. The hours will typically be Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Designing and engineering of repairs and upgrades to gas turbine hot section components
  • Engaging in continuous improvement efforts to assist with shop floor efficiency
  • Understanding and interpreting component drawings and material specifications
  • Commissioning, tooling on specialized equipment
  • Project management tasks
  • Utilizing various design software
  • Performing fixture designs
  • Designing mechanical components
  • Engineering and designing for welding, brazing, HVOF and coating
  • Performing Failure Modes Effect Analysis

Key Experience/Education:

  • Graduate of a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering program required
  • B Eng or BA Sc required
  • P. Eng. designation an asset
  • 5+ years of related experience required
  • Experience in gas turbine, design, processing or advanced manufacturing preferred, ideally within a flight repair environment
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of CAD, Solid Edge or Solid Works required
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles required
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Previous experience the following preferred:
    • gas turbine components / combustion mechanical design
    • component mechanical design
    • hot section component fixture design
    • welding, brazing, HVOF, or coating design
    • aircraft / aircraft engine component repair
    • FME Analysis
  • Previous experience in a repair shop environment an asset
  • Previous experience with machining of super alloys a strong asset
  • Previous experience with DER and ODA repairs an asset
