Job description

Reporting to a Foreman, a Gas Fuser performs fusions on gas pipe and provides a full installation of gas facilities, such as, but are not limited to the following : install and complete all main line connections including fittings, installing all service punch tees, competing tracer wire connections, pressure testing completed main. In addition, this position is responsible for submitting test documentation and ensuring proper documentation for as-builts. A Gas Fuser will provide support to crews installing gas main, tracer wire, and placing online.

How You’ll Add Value

• Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
• Complete live gas tie-ins safely and professionally according to ATCO requirements to ensure system integrity and worker safety
• Perform pressure testing of ATCO facilities and submit approved test documentation to verify system safety and compliance
• Ensure all tees are installed, tested, and tracer wire is correctly placed and staked to maintain proper gas line function and location tracking
• Measure and stake gas lines accurately to ensure proper placement and alignment with project specifications
• Document any deviations in line assignments, fitting locations, or requirements for accurate as-built records
• Load, unload, and move construction materials to keep the worksite organized, clear of hazards, and operationally efficient
• Follow ATCO-required work procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Interpret and apply ATCO gas prints to ensure correct installation and adherence to project requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following :

Qualifications & Experience

• 2+ years of gas fusing experience is heavy civil construction
• ATCO Gas Fusion certification is required
• Physically able to safely lift and carry 40 lbs regularly
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
