Job summary

DFP Services is recruiting Gas, Plumbing and Heating Engineers for on-the-road maintenance across various properties. The role involves diagnostics, routine maintenance, and onsite repairs with full training provided.

Overtime and standby rates apply, and a company van and equipment are provided. Ideal candidates hold Commercial gas qualifications, Gas Safe registration, and a full UK driving licence, with experience in care homes or public sector environments preferred.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe registered with commercial gas qualifications.
• Experience in gas, heating and plumbing works.
• Experience in care homes or public sector environments is preferable.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to communicate at all levels.
• IT literate and able to complete paperwork.
• Plumbing, AC or commercial plant fault-finding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out diagnostic fault finding to boilers, water heaters, warm air, etc.
• Completing maintenance & PPM certification paperwork on PDA
• Efficiently maintaining and repairing gas plant equipment, plumbing, heating systems and components
• Identifying areas for additional works and supply accurate quotations for extra work
• Completing all work-related documentation accurately and on time
• Complying with company policies, procedures and Health & Safety rules
• Carrying out work in a safe and diligent manner
• Attending training and appraisal activities as required

The Role

DFP has a great opportunity for Gas, Plumbing and Heating Engineers in the North East region. DFP provide planned and reactive maintenance, response & repair to all types of gas, heating and plumbing to Care Homes, NHS buildings, Universities, local Councils, sheltered housing, commercial shops, and many other properties throughout the country.

• Pay: Up to £40,000
• Location: On the road

The Responsibilities

• Carrying out diagnostic fault finding to boilers, water heaters, warm air, etc.
• Completing maintenance & PPM certification paperwork on PDA
• Efficiently maintaining and repairing gas plant equipment, plumbing, heating systems and components
• Identifying areas for additional works within and out of the specified contractual requirements, supplying accurate quotations where required for any additional works
• Understanding and completing all work-related documentation accurately on time, to exceed the customer’s expectations
• Complying with company policies and procedures
• Carrying out work in a safe and diligent manner
• Complying with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Attending and fully participating in training and appraisal activities as required

The Person

• Commercial gas qualifications
• Commercial gas experience
• Gas Safe
• CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1,
• Good general experience, working in care homes or public sector environment preferable
• A good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
• Full UK driving licence
• The ability to communicate at all levels
• Generally, IT literate
• Clear oral and written communication skills
• A customer focused approach
• Plumbing, AC, commercial plant fault finding experience preferable
• Good general knowledge of electrics is preferable

The Training

Full training will be provided.

The Hours

• 08:00am -16.30pm, 5 days per week, 40 hours
• Overtime rate paid after 40 hours
• Double time paid for call outs between 12am & 5am and Sundays
• Call out rota 1 day in every 4
• Overtime available
• £125 Standby rate
