Job summary

City of Ottawa seeks a Garage Supervisor to oversee production planning, scheduling and logistics for Transit Fleet maintenance and service work. You will coordinate daily tasks and ensure vehicles stay clean, safe, and reliable.

Role requires 310T/310S certifications, First Aid/CPR/AED, and a CZ license asset, with extensive knowledge of bus models and safety standards. Full-time position based in Ottawa, Ontario.

Qualifications

• First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates must be obtained within the employer's timeframe.
• Ontario CZ class driver’s license is an asset.
• Ontario Certificate of Qualification as 310T and 310S required.
• Extensive technical knowledge of all bus models in the Transit fleet.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and servicing, preventive maintenance, unplanned work and repairs to keep vehicles clean, safe and reliable.
• Monitor safety recertification of equipment in the non-revenue department.
• Transit vehicle body maintenance, structural repair, modification, painting and components.
• Maintain and repair work procedures and participate in accident investigations.

They’re appointed for production planning, scheduling and logistics for the maintenance and service work for Transit Fleet vehicles. • Candidates are appointed to perform daily cleaning and servicing, preventive maintenance, unplanned work, and general and specialized repairs to provide clean, well‑maintained, safe and reliable vehicles.
• They’re appointed to monitor the safety recertification of various equipment in the non‑revenue department.
• Candidates will have to transit vehicle body maintenance, structural repair, and modification, painting and components.
• They’re appointed for maintenance and repair work proceedings and performing accident investigations.

Job requirement

• Candidates must obtain Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates within the time frame determined by the employer.
• They must obtain a valid Ontario unrestricted CZ class driver’s license as an asset.
• Candidates must attain a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Truck and Coach Technician 310T and Automotive Service Technician 310S.
• They must attain extensive technical knowledge of all bus models in use in the Transit fleet.

Work setting

• They must attain knowledge of weight classification for snow plough equipment, and weight restrictions.
• Candidates must attain a dedicated knowledge of Generators, Forklifts, and Genie lift legislation to maintain and operate the equipment.
