Job summary

Kabam is seeking a Data Analyst to translate large, complex data into actionable insights that optimize player retention and monetization for our free-to-play games. The role is full-time and on-site at our Downtown Vancouver studio, collaborating with the internal gaming teams to drive data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in data analysis, strong SQL, experience with large datasets, and familiarity with gaming or high-volume mobile apps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• 3+ years of industry data analysis experience with solid knowledge of statistical methods.
• 1+ years of industry data experience in games, online casino, slot games, or high-volume B2C mobile apps.
• Expert SQL skills and experience querying very large data sets.
• Proven ability to thrive using multiple mixed, varied, and inconsistent data sources.
• Fundamental knowledge of project management methodologies.
• Regular communication with stakeholders from other departments and drive actionable items for continuous improvement.
• Experience with Google BigQuery, Tableau, JIRA and/or other project management software.
• Experience working for a social or mobile game developer.
• Understanding of game design concepts and principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with various teams across the organization to understand business goals and data needs.
• Improve reporting processes by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements.
• Assist with larger-scale projects, contributing data-driven insights.
• Use SQL to extract and manipulate data from various sources.
• Perform hands-on exploration of data sets to answer business questions.
• Utilize statistical analysis to identify trends, correlations, and patterns.
• Create data visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports tailored to different teams.
• Ensure dashboards and reports are up-to-date and accurate.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested.
• Design, execute, and manage multiple A/B tests to gain insights into KPIs.
• Analyze A/B results to draw actionable conclusions.
• Make data-driven recommendations for optimizing business strategies.
• Measure the success of new product features using key metrics.
• Drive data-driven iteration and optimization of product features.
• Assist in task prioritization within the data team and collaborate to achieve goals.
