Some of our titles include Super Mario Strikers, Mario Strikers Charged, Punch-Out!!, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Metroid Prime Federation Force, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and most recently Mario Strikers: Battle League.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

We are looking for a Gameplay Engineer to join our team at Next Level Games. The Gameplay Engineer will work closely with the Game Director, Designers, Gameplay Engineering Team and Gameplay Animators to implement core gameplay mechanics and engine features.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
  • 3+ years professional video game development experience
  • Proficiency with C++
  • Experience with character movement, interactions, and controls
  • Strong linear algebra skills
  • Understanding of skeletal animation, real-time physics, and game AI systems
  • Eagerness to work with designers while taking features from prototyping through to completion
  • Eye for detail with an interest in fine tuning the gameplay experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-drive and organization
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or similar, or equivalent experience
YOU SET YOURSELF ABOVE WITH:
  • Worked on at least one shipped AAA console/PC game
  • Experience with a custom game engine
  • Passion for video games and game design

Please note this is a hybrid position, requiring at least three days per week at our Vancouver studio.

The hiring range for this position is $82,500 - $105,000 CAD annually and is subject to change. The final base salary compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
