Job summary

Big Blue Bubble is seeking a versatile Game Programmer to ensure seamless content integration into the game engine and to design robust content pipelines. You will empower QA with automated testing frameworks and validation tech.

You will build and maintain pipelines for art, audio, levels, and data, and craft tools, plugins, and automated validators to speed up production across teams. This role emphasizes clean code, collaboration, and strong problem solving in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with C#, Java and JavaScript.
  • Excellent problem-solving and math skills.
  • Familiarity with animation, networking and other game programming domains.
  • Experience with web servers, databases, mobile app development, and source control systems.
  • Knowledge of data structures, object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Proven track record of creating developer-facing tools, editor extensions, or asset validation systems.
  • Familiarity with test automation, technical validation strategies, and writing functional or regression test specifications for game content.
  • Strong communication skills with a user-first mindset for internal software development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanisms to validate game/build integrity (unit/regression testing, data verification).
  • Maintain clean, well-documented code for internal tools and integration frameworks.

Job description

We are looking for a versatile Game Programmer who will ensure seamless content integration into the game engine, design robust tools to streamline content pipelines, and empower our Quality Assurance team with automated testing frameworks and validation technology.

Key Responsibilities:
Game Content Integration:
  • Build, maintain, and optimize pipelines for importing art, audio, animation, levels, and design data into the game engine.
  • Work closely with artists, game designers, and sound designers to streamline content workflows.
Game Content Tools:
  • Design and implement tools, plugins, and automation scripts to accelerate adding content to the game.
  • Develop automated content validation tools.
Quality Assurance & Test Support:
  • Partner directly with the Quality Assurance team to build internal debugging tools and create automation scripts to test content on handheld devices.
  • Develop technical mechanisms to validate game/build integrity (e.g.,unit testing, regression testing, data verification).
  • Assist in writing technical test cases and tools for complex game content interactions.
  • Maintain clean and well documented code for internal tools and integration frameworks.
