Job summary

Prospect Human Services is dedicated to identifying situations where groups of individuals are facing challenges with full participation, and developing the services and supports necessary to break down those barriers. Our current portfolio provides support to both individuals and employers to fully integrate our community and our workforce.

Reporting to the Studio C Manager, the Gallery Technician supports the day-to-day public operations of Studio C, with a focus on installing and promoting art exhibitions. This role also assists with program delivery and event coordination to help ensure the success of Prospect’s creative initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Curate and install exhibitions at Studio C and off-site locations
  • (e.g., local businesses, galleries, festivals, and community spaces).
  • Coordinate and procure supplies for exhibitions, events, and Studio C programs.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including answering phones, greeting visitors, and preparing documentation for reporting.
  • Design and coordinate the printing of monthly exhibition marketing materials and invitations.
  • Maintain and repair studio equipment and tools to ensure a safe and functional workspace.
  • Construct collaborative artworks for team-building initiatives and coordinate framing.
  • Transport materials and artwork between sites as needed.
  • Engage with all Studio C stakeholders, including walk-in visitors, artists, and community partners.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, privacy legislation, and health and safety standards.
  • Represent and promote Prospect’s mission, vision, and brand values in all interactions.
  • Ensure storage space is tidy and organized between exhibitions.

What does it take to do this job?

  • Completion of post-secondary education, preferably in a recognized Accounting/Finance Post-secondary education in visual arts or a related discipline; a combination of education and equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and build relationships across diverse groups.
  • Empathetic, enthusiastic, and driven to contribute to inclusive and creative environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to provide assistance, information, and support to employers, clients, and team members.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion strategies, and experience working with individuals facing barriers is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in sales and/or marketing is an asset.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including the public, sponsors, and volunteers.
  • Experience in client service or a community-facing role is considered an asset.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • May be required to lift objects up to 40lbs daily
