Job summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC in Toronto is seeking an Interim Engineering Intern – HW to work on the layout of complex ICs. You will collaborate with senior engineers to drive physical mixed-signal layouts from concept through production, supporting the next generation of semiconductor solutions.

You will gain hands-on experience with floorplanning, placement, routing, and verification using Cadence Virtuoso and Synopsys IC Compiler, while developing Python/TCL scripting and participating in design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in one of the specified fields.
• 1+ years of programming in C, C++, Python or similar.
• Familiarity with layout tools such as Cadence Virtuoso or IC Compiler.
• Scripting in Python or TCL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to create and optimize physical mixed-signal layouts for ICs.
• Assist in floorplanning, placement, and routing of analog and digital blocks.
• Utilize industry-standard EDA tools for layout design and verification.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on layout-related decisions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure layout meets performance, power, and area requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve layout-related issues as they arise.
