Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Java software engineer to design and implement distributed microservices for pricing, trade capture, and regulatory functionality. You will contribute to architecture, lead platform development, and drive technical strategy across server-side applications.

The role requires strong communication with business and technology stakeholders, fluency in English and French, and a track record delivering scalable, enterprise-grade software in the financial sector.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Java and distributed server-side application development.
• Experience with Spring, web services, RESTful APIs, relational databases, and middleware technologies.
• Experience designing and delivering scalable microservices and enterprise-grade software solutions.
• Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across business and technology teams.
• Experience working in, or desire to work in, the financial industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of FX products and related business processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of French and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices supporting pricing, trade capture, and control applications, including regulatory-focused functionality.
• Lead the architecture, development, and enhancement of distributed Java-based platforms and services.
• Drive technical strategy and influence engineering direction across server-side application development initiatives.
• Promote software engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, automation, and development tooling.
• Adopt and leverage AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, reduce technical debt, and enhance delivery throughput.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews.
• Lead and support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Support major production events, provide timely issue resolution, and drive long-term improvements based on operational feedback.
