Pitch Black is seeking an experienced FX Artist specializing in Houdini to craft advanced simulations across shots with complex multi-element sequences. You will develop reusable templates and tools to streamline production workflows and mentor peers.

Strong scripting and Maya skills support rapid iteration in a fast-paced environment. The candidate collaborates with Supervisors and global teams, helping set quality benchmarks and ensuring consistency.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a professional VFX production environment with a strong focus on FX.
• Expert-level Houdini experience.
• Strong understanding of particle systems, destruction, volumetrics, and fluid simulations.
• Strong scripting skills in VEX, Python, and MEL.
• Advanced Maya knowledge.
• Experience working within fast-paced production environments.
• Nice to have: leading sequences or small teams, pipeline/R&D/tool development contributions, Vellum, Katana or Unreal Engine knowledge, Nuke experience.
