Job description

Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing East Coast family company, with Platinum Member status in Canada's Best Managed Companies Program, is offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Company's team as an Electrician for our Freshwater Hatcheries throughout New Brunswick. The position will be located in Charlotte County, N.B. area and will require travel to all hatcheries within the province.

The Role

This position offers full-time, year-round employment.

Primary duties include:

  1. Repairing and maintaining electrical systems on all hatchery equipment.
  2. Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment within the hatchery properties.
  3. Inspect and test electrical systems to ensure proper operation.
  4. Inspect and maintain electrical systems; wiring, connections etc.
  5. Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
  6. Ensure scheduled maintenance is completed.
  7. Prepare and submit reports related to electrical systems maintenance.
  8. Maintain accurate records of equipment.
  9. Ensure safety and compliance with the regulations.
  10. Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  11. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

The ideal candidate must be:

  1. A self-motivated team player who possesses excellent problem-solving skills.
  2. Minimum of 5 years electrical experience preferred.
  3. Must possess either Electrical Journeyman or Mechanical Journeyman certification.
  4. Regular travel to hatchery facilities throughout the province.
