We are seeking Technical Officers for future temporary or contract opportunities through a vendor partner at the Bruce Power site. These dynamic roles require individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The Technical Officer evaluates, considers, and proposes solutions for major and minor work areas at Bruce Power. Responsibilities include updating instructions and procedures, preparing reports, reviewing external proposals, participating in training, and supervising staff as needed.

Technical Officers support MCR Ready for Service by overseeing project completion and readiness for operations. They manage closeout processes, collect documentation, and oversee execution of commissioning, engineering changes, work management, project management, contractor management, and quality assurance. The processes culminate in system closeout and return to service control points.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispositions from Operations/Engineering determine required Tasks, DCRs, TCCs, and DCNs for Return to Modified Service (RMOS).
  • Disposing of work order tasks flagged for RMOS prior to system reactivation.
  • Participating in field walkdowns before RMOS declaration.
  • Managing open work tasks related to field work, CCD, and pre-planning of RFS Soil Process.
  • Reviewing and disposing of new/proposed work, SRP/KDFs, PMID’s, and system bundles.
  • Completing project reviews and FORM-14441 documentation.
  • Closing remaining work order tasks flagged as SAFO in the SOIL list.
  • Reviewing and disposing of DCRs and TCCs related to systems and system bundles.
  • Confirming credited PMIDs and submitting PMCRs for completed modifications.
  • Providing system health reports for environmental disposition.
  • Participating in joint system walkdowns with stakeholders.
  • Offering technical evaluations, problem-solving, and coordination of technical work.
  • Assessing, evaluating, and recommending initial problem dispositions.
  • Seeking approval and discussing proposed solutions as required.
  • Monitoring maintenance and operational issues to implement changes.
  • Collaborating with other departments on tests and documentation.
  • Staying updated on new developments for equipment and operations.
  • Maintaining and updating operating and departmental procedures.
  • Preparing reports and presentations.
  • Supervising staff involved in these activities periodically.
  • Performing other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Typically acquired through a four-year university degree in engineering or science, or equivalent.
  • Over 6 up to 8 years of relevant experience.
