Join a pioneering team focused on muon-catalyzed fusion, where your engineering skills will help design cutting-edge fuel handling systems. This full-time role involves developing ultra-high vacuum systems and collaborating with a diverse team across various locations. You'll gain hands-on experience with advanced analytical techniques while contributing to groundbreaking research that aims to revolutionize energy sources. If you're passionate about physics and engineering, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a forward-thinking environment.
Acceleron Fusion is pioneering muon‑catalyzed fusion—a path to clean, abundant energy. Building on research sponsored by the U.S. DOE, we have recently raised a $24M Series A venture capital round. We have already logged 100+ hours of muon-catalyzed fusion in tests at the Paul Scherrer Institute. Our collaborators include PSI, Oak Ridge, Argonne, Fermilab, and top universities. Join a team where fundamental physics meets application-oriented engineering, and your designs could power the leap from laboratory breakthrough to world‑changing energy source.
We’re looking for an innovative, collaborative Process Engineer with a background in ultra-pure gases to design and implement the fuel handling systems for our muon-catalyzed fusion research apparatus. The role focuses on developing the ultra-high vacuum and gas handling systems needed to manage deuterium-tritium fusion fuel and other process gases. The majority of our engineering and development work occurs at our facility in Cambridge, MA. You will also travel with the team for several weeks out of the year to help integrate and test systems at our partner facilities in Switzerland, Vancouver, and New York.
Acceleron Fusion is an equal opportunity employer, committed to building a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of background.
