What you'll be doing

Technology, Infrastructure and Innovation (TI&I) spans Technology, Digital, Innovation, Enterprise Analytics, Security, Programs, and Client Experience. Supporting CIBC’s core purpose—to make our clients’ ambitions a reality—TI&I delivers operational excellence by managing infrastructure, enabling transformation, and executing strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Fusion Data & Analytics, the Fusion Analytics Consultant will collaborate with Lines of Business (LOBs) to analyze data supporting incident response and develop threat detection logic using cross-pillar datasets. The team leverages data & analytics to safeguard clients, employees, and assets from financial crimes. Your role involves conducting data analysis to identify emerging threat behaviors within the data.

How you'll succeed
  • Analytics support for incident response – Support data and analysis needs during incidents, working closely with the Fusion Response team and business owners to deliver effective responses.
  • Threat detection logic development – Use cross-domain data to develop detection logic for various threats, understanding behaviors to create effective alerts.
  • Cloud Migration – Assist in migrating threat detection codes from on-premises environments to Databricks in the Cloud.
  • Automation – Support continuous improvement initiatives by automating manual processes using programming skills.
Who you are
  • Experience – 2-5 years in data handling and manipulation; proficiency in SQL, Python/Spark is an asset.
  • Incident response knowledge – Support incident response through data and analytics, facilitating swift responses.
  • Threat detection knowledge – Experience in detecting cross-domain threats such as fraud, money laundering, cyber, and insider threats.
