About This Role

As a Funeral Director at Harbourview Funeral Centre and Jenkens Funeral Home in Thunder Bay, Ontario, you will have the opportunity to provide meaningful support to families on their end-of-life journey by overseeing and directing all aspects of funeral services, including: filing death certificates, maintaining online obituary listings, performing decedent embalming and providing assistance during the execution of funeral services.

The sunniest city in Eastern Canada, Thunder Bay is home to Harbourview Funeral Centre and Jenkens Funeral Home. Situated on stunning Lake Superior, Thunder Bay boasts an abundance of beautiful natural scenery, all the while affording the convenience of living in the city.

Key Qualifications And Demonstrated Abilities

  • Possesses a Class 1 Funeral Director’s license.
  • Displays proven, superior arrangement, directing and embalming skills.
  • Passion for customer care demonstrated in previous professional experiences.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills with the ability to partner with all levels of the organization.
  • Exemplifies Arbor’s values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
  • Excellent knowledge of Funeral Home procedures and business practices including Funeral Home Procedures Manuals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Arranges, coordinates and directs funeral ceremonies.
  • Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the families we serve.
  • Maintains active involvement within the community and is committed to building and establishing effective relationships and rapport.
  • Supports the Funeral Service Department’s vision of technology integration by understanding the role technology plays in the funeral home’s success.
