Job description

This Volunteer Placement is Located in: Iringa, Tanzania

Start Date: June / July 2025

Placement Length: 6 months with the possibility of extension

Language Requirements: English

Eligibility: Open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only

The Volunteer’s Role

The aim of the Fundraising & Resource Mobilization Advisor is to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs by supporting the development and execution of project plans, monitoring progress, and conducting detailed reviews of implementation and spending. Develop and maintain evaluation methods to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement. Lead the analysis and documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and challenges in implementing Business Development Services (BDS) through SIDO T-LED Hubs. Write donor reports by coordinating inputs from multiple sources and facilitating the internal review process to ensure timely submission.

You will also apply organizational skills to assist with strategic planning, guiding the organization from its current state to a sustainable future. This role requires managing multiple priorities and engaging with diverse partners and stakeholders. Working with international volunteers, you will collaborate with team members, using your strong interpersonal skills to support and advise managers and staff.

Selection Requirements

If shortlisted, you will need to:

  • Confirm passport or permanent resident details
  • Provide 2 professional references and 1 personal reference
  • Complete a language assessment during the preliminary interview
  • Obtain a satisfactory police check
  • Complete a medical exam and be medically cleared before departure
  • Be double vaccinated against COVID-19, following the SKWID training

We will support your preparation through a Volunteering Mobilization Advisor, pre-placement training, and access to online resources. This training aims to maximize your understanding of the placement, culture, safety, and health protocols.
