This is an equity partner role. That means :
- No upfront cash compensation
- Equity (shares) at founding partner level (standard vesting)
- Future token-based rewards (pending legal and jurisdictional clearance)

Overview
We’re recruiting a Funding Operations Director to oversee the strategic and operational execution of all funding-related functions across North America. You’ll lead a binational team across the entire capital stack —grants, government partnerships, treasury management, angel / venture funding, and innovative finance structures.
You’ll drive both big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution , ensuring that Anime Universe has the financial fuel, resilience, and foresight to scale across creative, technological, and IP-driven frontiers.

What You’ll Own
Strategic Capital Leadership
- Design and execute a comprehensive funding operations strategy aligned with executive financial goals
- Serve as the strategic bridge between the C-suite, government stakeholders, private funders, and your operational team
- Lead, mentor, and align a binational team of specialists across the US and Canada
Grants & Government Funding Execution
- Oversee the full lifecycle of public grant acquisition, submission, and compliance
- Supervise grant writing, funding applications, and program reporting across both U.S. and Canadian landscapes
- Proactively identify new public funding programs, incentives, and institutional opportunities
Treasury & Cash Flow Systems
- Lead all treasury operations, ensuring real-time visibility across cash flow, disbursement scheduling, and liquidity
- Oversee cross-border funding deployment and compliance with grant-related financial regulations
- Optimize capital efficiency and ensure strategic reserve planning
Public Sector & Government Relations
- Direct government relations specialists to maintain high-impact, mission-aligned partnerships
- Lead lobbying and advocacy efforts tied to funding legislation or partnership advancement
- Stay ahead of policy developments that affect funding channels or compliance obligations
Angel, Venture & Philanthropic Capital
- Supervise early-stage capital engagement via angel, VC, and philanthropic networks
- Collaborate on investor memos, funding decks, and capital formation strategies
- Maintain active relationship management and due diligence process coordination
- Guide PPP experts in structuring co-financed initiatives with government, academia, or nonprofit entities
- Explore creative finance vehicles and hybrid models that blend mission and capital efficiency
- Drive institutional credibility with a flexible but rigorous funding operations model
Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance
- Establish and maintain internal controls for grant compliance, financial integrity, and cross-border audit-readiness
- Design risk mitigation strategies related to dependency on any single funding stream or jurisdictional shift
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years in finance, grant operations, treasury leadership, or public-private capital structuring
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary, multi-jurisdictional teams
- Deep working knowledge of government grants, PPPs, and venture / angel capital
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree (MBA, MPA, or Public Policy)
- Strategic thinker with both macro capital systems thinking and micro execution precision
- Experienced in cross-border operations with knowledge of U.S. and Canadian funding and regulatory environments
- Confident communicator and relationship builder with high-level stakeholders (e.g. funders, legislators, executive leadership)
- Deeply committed to compliance, integrity, and transparent funding processes
