Job description

Sensity seeks a Fund Development and Grant Writing Specialist for an immediate opening for a full time role. Reporting to our Chief Executive Officer, join our committed team in providing a broad range of services to a dynamic group of leaders and staff.

This position, based in Paris, ON, will lead our fundraising and grant acquisition efforts. This role is critical to ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of our nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies, identifying new funding opportunities, and preparing compelling grant proposals and reports.

Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners.
  • Plan and manage fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and special events.
  • Develop donor stewardship plans to retain and upgrade current donors.
  • Take a leadership role in planning and executing fundraising events and campaigns, managing logistics, communications, and administrative processes.
  • Engage with stakeholders by preparing detailed reports, presentations, and updates that demonstrate progress, outcomes, and the value of contributions.
  • Work closely with management to provide updates and ensure coordinated fundraising efforts.

Identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations.

  • Search, identify and prepare relevant requests for grants and funders.
  • Research grant guidelines, deadlines, and eligibility criteria.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality, customized grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and applications.
  • Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather necessary information and data for grant proposals and reports.
  • Maintain a grant calendar and ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.
  • Manage all post-award grant reporting and compliance requirements .

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, English, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fund development and grant writing.
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising and grant awards.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on grant writing.
  • Ability to draft budgets and prioritize multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in managing complex campaigns or initiatives.
