About Circle of Care St. Louis:
Circle of Care St. Louis is a nonprofit organization committed to helping older adults and adults with disabilities live with dignity and independence. Through home and community-based programs, we serve under-resourced communities across the St. Louis region. As we expand our fundraising and engagement efforts, we are seeking a Fund Development & Community Engagement Associate who is passionate about storytelling, relationship building, and creating systems that support sustainable growth.
Position Overview:
The Fund Development & Community Engagement Associate is a cross-functional position that supports fundraising, volunteer management, grant writing, donor outreach, and event planning. This individual will work closely with the CEO and Program Leadership to manage donor communications, write grants, track outreach activities, coordinate special events, and support volunteer engagement efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong executive functioning, be highly organized, self-directed, and motivated by impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Grants & Fundraising (40%)
Assist with grant writing, reporting, and research
Maintain fundraising calendar and track submission deadlines
Support donor database management and help process donor acknowledgements
Draft fundraising appeals, thank-you letters, and campaign content
Track and organize fundraising metrics and assist with donor stewardship
Volunteer & Community Engagement (30%)
Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for events and programs
Manage communication with volunteers and maintain updated records
Collaborate with program staff to identify volunteer needs
Support volunteer orientation sessions and community presentations
Events & Outreach (20%)
Assist with the planning and execution of special events and fundraisers (e.g. Respect Your Elders Fashion Show, Diabetes Banquet)
Coordinate event logistics, volunteer assignments, and materials
Represent Circle of Care St. Louis at community outreach events
Support marketing and outreach efforts, including flyers, social posts, and event promotions
Administrative & Cross-Team Support (10%)
Maintain accurate files and documentation for fund development activities
Participate in internal meetings to stay aligned with program priorities
Prepare board and committee reports as requested
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, volunteer coordination, or events
Excellent writing, communication, and follow-through
Strong time management and executive functioning skills
Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently
Proficiency with the following platforms strongly preferred:
Little Green Light (donor management)
AI writing tools (e.g., Grammarly, ChatGPT, Jasper)
Canva (design and marketing assets)
Facebook Business Suite (social media scheduling)
VolunteerMatch (recruiting and managing volunteers)
Slack (internal communication)
GrantStation (grant research)
Monday.com (task and project tracking)
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
Commitment to service and helping older adults and adults with disabilities age in place at home
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience
Monthly performance bonus based on event and fundraising targets
