Role Overview :
Consulting Manager / Sr. Manager based offshore but supporting Canadian client facing delivery for Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation. The Functional Architect for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Purchasing & Supply Chain Management (SCM) is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing supply chain and procurement solutions within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform. This role will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their supply chain and purchasing processes, define requirements, and deliver end-to-end solutions that enhance operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and visibility. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Dynamics 365 SCM, with a strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution operations.
Desired Experience :
- Solution Design and Implementation :
- Lead the functional design and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 SCM solutions, focusing on the procurement, inventory, and supply chain modules.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements for supply chain processes including procurement, inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics.
- Configure and optimize Dynamics 365 SCM to streamline processes such as purchase requisitioning, purchase order management, inventory management, warehouse operations, and transportation.
- End-to-End Supply Chain & Procurement Management :
- Design and implement solutions that integrate end-to-end supply chain processes, from supplier management and procurement to order fulfillment and distribution.
- Define and configure best practices for sourcing, vendor management, procurement workflows, and purchase order management within Dynamics 365 SCM.
- Optimize inventory control processes, including real-time tracking, warehouse management, and stock replenishment.
- Business Process Optimization :
- Identify and assess opportunities for process improvement and automation within the Dynamics 365 SCM environment.
- Guide inventory optimization, demand forecasting, purchasing strategies, and logistics management to ensure maximum efficiency and cost savings.
- Work with cross-functional teams to streamline supply chain processes and eliminate bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Requirement Gathering :
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, including procurement, finance, and logistics teams, to understand their needs and translate them into functional solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with business users to ensure alignment of the system’s capabilities with business requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for supply chain and purchasing-related issues during the project lifecycle, ensuring that business requirements are met.

- Ensure smooth integration of Dynamics 365 SCM with other enterprise systems, such as ERP, CRM, financial systems, and third-party applications.
- Define and oversee the migration of historical procurement and supply chain data into Dynamics 365, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement integrations that connect external systems with Dynamics 365 SCM.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure that all configured features and processes work as expected within the Dynamics 365 SCM environment.
- Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide support during the testing phase to ensure that business requirements are met.
- Address any issues or discrepancies that arise during testing, and work closely with developers to resolve them.
- Develop user training materials and provide training sessions to ensure successful user adoption of the Dynamics 365 SCM solution.
- Provide post-implementation support, including troubleshooting issues, providing system enhancements, and addressing user inquiries.
- Establish a knowledge base for users to refer to when using the system, ensuring they can resolve common issues independently.
- Stay current with the latest updates, features, and best practices in Microsoft Dynamics 365 SCM and supply chain management.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing new functionality in Dynamics 365 SCM to enhance supply chain performance.
- Advocate for innovation and process optimization, using the latest Microsoft 365 and Power Platform tools to enhance supply chain operations.
- Project Management Support :
- Assist in managing project timelines, ensuring that tasks are completed on schedule and within scope.
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and the technical team to ensure project success.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management :
- Collaborate with finance and accounting, HR and Payroll, Purchasing & Supply Chain departments and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth end-to-end process execution
- Resolve any issues related to Record-to-report, Service-to-Cash, Transactional Finance in coordination with relevant teams
- Act as a liaison between business users and the technical teams for system-related queries
- Mentor junior consultants and other team members.
- Provide guidance and support in their professional development.
- Lead by example, promoting best practices within the team
Skills & Qualifications
Required :
- Minimum of 7-9 years of prior D-365 Purchasing, SCM, MML modules with hand-on project delivery experience as functional consultant in client facing capacity
- Proven track record of leading successful implementations and optimizations of Dynamics 365 SCM, specifically in the areas of purchasing, inventory management, and logistics.
- Experience with large-scale enterprise supply chain management projects, ideally in manufacturing, distribution, or retail environments.
Functional Expertise :
- Deep knowledge of core Dynamics 365 SCM functionality, including procurement, vendor management, inventory management, warehouse management, transportation, and logistics.
- Strong understanding of supply chain best practices and business processes related to procurement, inventory control, demand forecasting, and order fulfillment.
- Knowledge of integration patterns and processes within the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem, including Finance and Operations (F&O), Power Platform, and third-party applications.
Technical Knowledge :
- Familiarity with system integration concepts, data migration, and APIs for connecting external systems with Dynamics 365 SCM.
- Understanding of basic configuration and customization concepts in Dynamics 365 SCM, such as custom workflows, alerts, and reports.
- Knowledge of Power BI for reporting and dashboard development, as well as Power Automate for process automation.
Soft Skills :
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify process improvements and implement solutions.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors effectively to deliver results.
