Job description

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Functional Analyst to support the ongoing sustainment, enhancement, and evolution of asset and work management capabilities within a complex, asset-intensive environment. This role will bridge operational stakeholders, product teams, technical resources, architecture, and managed service partners to turn business priorities into secure, scalable, supportable, and cost-effective solutions. The successful candidate will contribute across the full application lifecycle, from requirements and functional design through testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior EAM professional with strong IBM Maximo expertise who understands both the operational realities of maintenance and asset management and the technology required to support them.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with maintenance, operations, supply chain, product, and technology stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into executable EAM solutions.
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements for EAM enhancements and initiatives.
  • Develop detailed functional specifications, user stories, process flows, configuration requirements, test scenarios, and measurable acceptance criteria.
  • Support EAM product roadmap initiatives through impact assessments, dependency analysis, prioritization, implementation planning, and release readiness activities.
  • Maintain and refine application/product backlogs while providing stakeholders with visibility into priorities, risks, dependencies, functional impacts, and delivered value.
  • Assess proposed solutions across business processes, application configuration, asset data, integrations, security, and end-user impacts.
  • Work with architecture, delivery teams, developers, integration resources, and managed service providers to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards and operational requirements.
  • Lead or support functional testing, system integration testing, business validation/UAT, defect triage, regression testing, and release activities.
  • Provide functional expertise for application sustainment, including production incidents, problem investigation, root-cause analysis, defect resolution, and recurring issue reduction.
  • Support integrations and data flows between EAM, ERP, middleware, and other enterprise platforms, assisting with functional troubleshooting when issues span multiple systems.
  • Assist with application upgrades, configuration changes, migrations, enhancements, and deployment of new capabilities.
  • Establish clear transition-to-support requirements for new solutions, including ownership, documentation, knowledge transfer, operating procedures, and support expectations.
  • Maintain current process, configuration, solution-design, and decision documentation to improve supportability and reduce dependency on individual resources.
  • Evaluate emerging EAM functionality, tools, and delivery practices that can improve maintenance, work management, asset reliability, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across both EAM business processes and application support/service delivery.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience supporting Enterprise Asset Management, maintenance/work management, asset-intensive operations, or closely related enterprise application environments.
  • Strong functional experience with EAM processes including asset management, work orders, corrective and preventive maintenance, inspections, planning and scheduling, inventory/materials, purchasing, and asset master data.
  • Demonstrated experience working with IBM Maximo, preferably across Work Management, Asset Management, Preventive Maintenance, Inventory, Purchasing, and Scheduler functionality.
  • Proven ability to translate complex operational requirements into functional specifications, configuration requirements, user stories, workflows/process maps, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise applications throughout the plan, build, release, operate, and improve lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience supporting production environments, including incident investigation, root-cause analysis, defect management, application enhancements, testing, releases, upgrades, and/or migrations.
  • Experience with ERP-to-EAM integrations and a strong functional understanding of enterprise integration patterns, middleware, interfaces, and end-to-end data flows.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise application architecture, security principles, configuration management, master data, and functional troubleshooting.
  • Experience conducting or supporting SIT, regression testing, UAT, defect triage, and production release validation for enterprise applications.
  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, DevOps, or product-oriented delivery models, with Azure DevOps experience considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage requirements and priorities across a product backlog while balancing strategic roadmap initiatives with operational sustainment demands.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with operational users, business leaders, developers, architects, vendors, and managed service providers.
  • Experience working with third-party application support or Application Management Services (AMS) providers is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in an asset-intensive industry such as energy, utilities, oil and gas, infrastructure, pipeline/midstream operations, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate independently in a complex enterprise environment.
