Job summary

InterContinental Toronto Centre is seeking a Full-Time Valet Attendant in downtown Toronto. You will assist guests by parking cars, helping with luggage, and offering information about hotel facilities to maximize guest satisfaction.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, English fluency, and an alcohol awareness certification, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of driving experience.
• Must speak fluent English and hold alcohol awareness certification.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Greet arriving guests, assist with parking and return vehicles safely upon request.
• Inspect vehicles and record information on valet tickets and logs.
• Explain hotel facilities and services to guests to maximize satisfaction and revenue.
• Provide luggage assistance and support to bell staff as needed.
• Respond promptly to guest requests or complaints and ensure follow-up.
• Provide non-valet parking guidance to guests on arrival.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

Assist guests by parking their cars in designated areas, assisting with luggage, and providing information about the hotel facilities and services to maximize guest satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet arriving guests, assist incoming and outgoing guests – parking their cars in designated areas and return vehicle at guests' request in a safe and timely manner.
• Conduct inspection of vehicle and record information on valet ticket and in Logbook.
• Explain and promote hotel facilities, outlets, and services to guests to increase guest satisfaction and maximize hotel revenues. Provide guest with local directions in a courteous and accurate manner.
• Provide luggage assistance to guests and/or bell staff as needed.
• Respond quickly to guest requests or complaints in a professional manner and ensure appropriate action is taken.Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provide non-valet parking instructions/guidance/assistance to guests upon arrival.
• May accept payments for parking fees from departing guests. Follow established cash/credit handling policies and procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of driving experience. Must speak fluent English. Alcohol awareness certification. Must have a valid driver's license and a clear driver's abstract.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

• Frequently standing up and moving about the guest entrance, lobby areas, garage and or other parking/valet areas
• Running to retrieve cars from valet area
• Knowledge of locale

OTHER

• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with clients and guests.
• Ability to drive cars with either manual or automatic transmissions
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often.
• Basic math skills are used frequently.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
