Job summary

CAA Club Group is seeking a Travel Consultant to advise members by phone or in person, selling travel products and services and promoting memberships. The role is full-time and on-site in Brandon, Manitoba, requiring post-secondary education in travel counselling and a GDS certification.

A strong background in travel planning, client services, and MS Office is expected. The successful candidate will manage passenger records, process payments, and support partnerships and marketing initiatives

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in travel counselling or equivalent.
  • CITC/CTC accreditation in progress or achieved.
  • Three years of travel consultant experience.
  • Apollo Focal Point GDS certification.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and counsel members to sell travel products by phone or in person.
  • Recommend travel planning options to optimize trips and save money.
  • Sell domestic and international travel products and services.
  • Promote CAA memberships and products.
  • Process tickets and travel documents; use Apollo Focal Point CRS and SAP.

Position Details
What You Will Do
  • Utilizes the Connections methodologies to identify and counsel members and clients via the telephone or in person in order to sell travel products and services.
  • Makes recommendations on all aspects of travel planning to improve trip, save money, and enhance the quality of the travel experience.
  • Sells all travel products including domestic and international air, train, cruise, tour, CAAexclusive group departures, travel insurance, hotel, and car reservations
  • Promotes CAA memberships and all CAA products, services, and benefits
  • Support all CAA/AAA preferred partnerships and marketing initiatives
  • Research client request, quotes fares and schedules, issues tickets, and prepares all required travel related documents and applications.
  • Advises client of product terms and conditions.
  • Creates accurate computerized passenger records using Apollo Focal Point Computer Reservation System (CRS), SAP System and Sales Automation.
  • Establishes and maintains member's travel files, accepts and processes payments, refunds, lost tickets, and documents.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards CCG product, services, and initiatives
  • Demonstrate daily, the Core Values & Service Principles of CCG
  • Participates in the resolution of client complaints.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Role is full-time on site in the Brandon, Manitoba location
Who You Are:
  • Graduate of Post Secondary Education Program in Travel Counselling.
  • Enrolment in or accreditation as a CITC (Canadian Institute of Travel Consultants) or Certified Travel Consultant (CTC).
  • Three (3) years of experience in a Travel Consultant (Agent) position.
  • Certification in Apollo (Focal Point) GDS.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
