Job description

Full-Time Temporary Junior High Math Teacher - 2025-2026

Join to apply for the Full-Time Temporary Junior High Math Teacher - 2025-2026 role at Peace River School Division.

The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a Full-Time Temporary Junior High Math Teacher at Fairview High School. This position will commence on August 27, 2025, and continue until June 26, 2026. The initial teaching assignment will include Junior High Math as well as other duties as assigned.

Fairview High School offers complete programming for grades seven through twelve, including academic, non-academic courses, and electives such as Industrial Arts, Home Economics, French, Art, and Computer programs. The school has partnered with Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) - Fairview campus to provide senior high students access to a new fitness center in Phys. Ed and Sports Performance.

Fairview is located in the town of Fairview, 115 km north of Grande Prairie, known as the Heart of the Peace Country. It offers natural beauty, outdoor activities, and a friendly community environment.

Qualifications
  • Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Experience and/or training in teaching junior high level grades
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and educational assistants
  • Proven ability to differentiate lessons to support student achievement
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Understanding of assessment practices
  • Ability to use technology to support learning
Requirements
  • Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (must be less than six months old at application time)

Additional Information

This position falls under the Collective Agreement between the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Peace River School Division. The annual salary range is $62,702 to $105,996, depending on experience and education.
