Job description

Act in a leadership capacity to support the sales, profitability, and operational goals for the store by guiding the hourly associates in the day-to-day procedures to best drive the store objectives.

Key Accountabilities :

1. Guide the daily operations of the store and activities of hourly associates to accomplish excellent customer service and maximize sales, in conjunction with or in the absence of management staff.
2. Provide positive reinforcement to hourly associates to promote high momentum and achieve staff growth and optimal results.
3. Conduct one-on-one and small group training sessions for Sales Associates on product knowledge, store activities, job duties, and policies.
4. Assist with documentation related to applicants and new hires.
5. Help display merchandise such as clothing, footwear, and accessories to attract attention and promote sales.
6. Utilize customer service, training, and communication tools to develop staff in line with division goals.
7. Originate or follow merchandise display suggestions provided by management.
8. Assist with staffing and labor cost control to maintain standards.
9. Achieve proficiency with the point of sale system, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
10. Complete sales transactions involving cash, credit, checks, etc.
11. Support product ticketing and verify paperwork against received items.
12. Assist in product flow from stockroom to sales floor as needed.
13. Monitor and maintain sales floor fill-in processes.
14. Communicate product levels and assortments with management.
15. Report progress on projects such as floor change-outs, shipments, and markdown setups.
16. Perform sales, customer service, merchandising, and store upkeep duties to ensure adequate staffing and lead by example.
17. Oversee store upkeep duties performance.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

3. Handle problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
4. Use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS systems effectively.
5. Exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.

8. Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime during peak periods.
9. Maintain physical activity requirements, including standing, walking, lifting up to 34 kg, and other physical movements.

Qualifications :

1. High school diploma or GED required or in pursuit.
2. Retail experience of three to six months preferred.
