Job summary

Pet Valu is seeking a Store Manager in Ajax, Ontario to coach and develop a store team, helping customers with pet nutrition and solutions. You will work with passionate Pet Experts to deliver world-class service and support for Pet Parents daily.

The role offers management training, product knowledge, competitive wages, and a pet-oriented career-building environment, with a wage of $22.50 and 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store management experience.
• Enthusiasm for learning & growth in pet care industry.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work as scheduled to meet attendance requirements, including weekends and evenings.
• Reliable transportation to and from the store.
• Observe and coach employees to provide feedback around sales techniques and customer service.
• Capacity for understanding inter-team conflicts and escalating when necessary.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively.
• Industry experience an asset.

• Manage a team of employees including recruiting, scheduling, training, day-to-day tasks, supervision and coaching.
• Operational Standards/Procedures: ensure staff adhere to standards and procedures set at the corporate level.
• Administrative activities: coordinate order placements, maintain inventory, ensure store and safety audits, coordinate minor repairs, complete corporate paperwork.
• Business Results: coordinate efforts of store staff to achieve targeted results.
• Other duties as required.
