Job summary

Pet Valu in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Sales Associate to help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and supplies. You will be part of a team of passionate Pet Experts and enjoy assisting customers daily.

The role requires pet knowledge, strong people skills, and flexibility for evenings and weekends. You must be able to lift heavy bags and assist with deliveries; training and store certification programs are provided.

Job Overview

As a Sales Associate you will use your knowledge and experience to help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and other solutions for their pets. You will be part of a team of passionate Pet Experts, and enjoy the perks of helping Pet Parents every day. Duties Will Include

• Serving customers - both at the till and in regards to product and pet concerns
• Providing product carry ups & carry outs
• Answering phone calls
• Cleaning (sweeping, dusting, tidying, sterilizing self-serve dog wash)
• Unloading deliveries
• Stocking shelves
• Looking after the store pet
• Re-merchandising where appropriate
• Day to day functions of the store
• Supporting other duties and requests made by management

Interested Applicants Should Meet The Following Requirements

• Available typical retail business hours, including evenings and weekends - including holidays if required
• Pet experience is a huge asset. Pet knowledge is mandatory.
• Customer service experience is an asset but you MUST have great people skills, we pride ourselves on our customer service.
• Be able to lift 45lbs repeatedly. Deliveries come at least twice a week and they consist of lots of large heavy bags that must be moved from outside and neatly put on the shelf.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work

All employees will receive in store training. You will also be responsible for completing a mandatory online certification program.
