Job summary

Pet Valu Canada, Inc. in Halifax, Nova Scotia is seeking a Sales Associate to help Pet Parents with nutrition and care solutions. You will join a team of Pet Experts committed to friendly service and knowledge sharing in a busy retail setting.

Responsibilities include cash handling, stocking, merchandising, and assisting with deliveries. Shifts are mainly evenings and weekends; holiday availability and reliable transportation are preferred for consistency.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Cashier and customer sales.
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork.
• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) into stock in the sales area.
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions.
• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs).
• Other duties and tasks as required.

What you do:

• Working knowledge of POS system
• Possess outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively
• Ability to work as scheduled to meet attendance requirements: shifts mostly evenings and weekends
• Must be available over the holiday season
• Ability to have reliable means of transportation to and from the store
