Leon’s Furniture in Barrie, Ontario is hiring a Full Time Showroom Helper to assist the Merchandise Manager and Decorator in creating functional and appealing product displays that showcase our merchandise. You will follow directions to arrange displays, move merchandise from warehouse to showroom, handle loading and unloading, and help with promotions.

A positive attitude and ability to lift heavy items are required. Starting wage is $17.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform heavy lifting and move merchandise.
• Ability to assemble and place products as directed.
• Interpret Decorator/Merchandise Manager directions to create the envisioned space.
• Maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers and delivery trucks.
• Inspect with Service department and customers.
• Complete an Accessory Inventory semi-annually.
• Unwrap and re-wrap products for delivery or pickup.
• Move new merchandise from the warehouse to the showroom and assist the decorator.
• Research product information, prices and specs on a computer.
• Assemble and set up merchandise.
• Construct and deconstruct displays for promotions.
• Decorate and tag products for promotions and upkeep showroom presentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Leon’s is currently looking for aFull Time Showroom Helperto assist the Merchandise Manager and Decorator in creating functional and appealing product displays that showcase our line of merchandise, and ensure the layout is well suited to our customers’ needs. Follow the direction of the Decorator and Merchandise Manager in setting up product displays throughout the showroom.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload trailers and delivery trucks
• Complete inspections with the Service department and customers
• Complete an Accessory Inventory semi-annually
• Unwrap and re-wrap products as required, for delivery or pickup
• Assist the decorator by moving new merchandise from the warehouse to the showroom, moving damaged merchandise to clearance, etc.
• Computer work – use operating system to research product information, prices and specs
• Assembling and setting up merchandise
• Helping to construct and deconstruct displays for promotions
• Decorating and tagging products for promotionsUpkeeping product display and the overall presentation of the showroom
• Performing various other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• Some heavy lifting required

• Ability to interpret and apply directions from Decorator and Merchandise Manager, to create the envisioned space

Compensation:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $17.95.
