Job Skills / Requirements

Paladin is looking for guards to deploy to various municipal sites in Lethbridge and area.

Security Guards work in a variety of settings. This job may be physically demanding due to the size of the buildings. Applicants must be able to work both day and overnight shift rotations.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance, and maintain effective relationships with clients and patrons
• Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety, address policy breaches, and document concerns
• Respond to and investigate security alarms and emergencies promptly and professionally
• De-escalate crisis situations, provide support, and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire, and paramedics
• Exercise crowd control and manage trespassers
• Write clear, detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability, and daily reports
• Provide first aid and medical response when necessary
• Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries

Job Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a valid Alberta security license
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong observational skills
• Ability to make immediate decisions and maintain composure in emergency situations with minimal supervision
• Ability to walk 18/20 km and stairs

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

Certification Requirements:

• Valid Security License
• An unrestricted Class 5 driver’s license is an asset
