Job Title: Full Time Security Guard

Site: Formet Industries

Address: 1 Cosma Court, St. Thomas, ON N5P 4J5

Hours: Monday – Friday 23:30 – 07:30hrs

Payrate: $18.56/hr

Posting Date: July 15, 2025

Closing Dates: Internal - July 22, 2025; External - August 12, 2025

The facility adheres to US Homeland Security CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program access control, including inbound and outbound shipments, visitors, and contractors. The guard will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions, inspecting and logging truck traffic and completing patrols.

Preferred Experience: Experience with CTPAT is an asset. Excellent communication skills focused on customer service, along with good computer abilities, are core requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: CTPAT Procedures, Weigh Scale Operation, Covid Screening, Access Control, Monitoring Security Systems, Conducting Security Patrols, Responding to Emergency Situations.

Job Requirements:

• Must possess Ontario Security Guard License.
• First Aid & CPR – Level C.
• Post-Secondary education in law enforcement or equivalent experience preferred.
• Physical demands include excessive walking and standing.
• Utilize radio and computer applications for communication.
• Report irregularities via incident reports and contact emergency responders as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual with tact and diplomacy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for Ontario.
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C.
• Fluency in English (oral and written).
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) are required or can be obtained through Paladin’s training program.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
