Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Full-Time Security Guard to patrol and monitor the Borouge International site in Corunna, Ontario. The role requires guarding premises, controlling access, responding to alarms, and maintaining logs in accordance with post orders and supervisor directions.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Ontario Security License, First Aid & CPR Level C, and demonstrates fluency in English (oral and written).

Qualifications

• Fluent English (oral and written) is required.
• Previous security experience is preferred.
• Strong observation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
• Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
• Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the site.
• Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
• Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
• Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
• Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functional.
• Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
• Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
• Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures.

• The Security Guard should strive to know the NOVA and contract personnel that they encounter daily on their site. They should also communicate one to another that information that ensures a consistent level of service.

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• At least two years of security experience in an industrial setting would be an asset.
