Job description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Associate Lead is primarily responsible for supporting management in the general operations of the store to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. Performs various sales and register transactions.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Promotes customer service by ensuring associates greet and assist customers; responds to inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.
  2. Performs operational activities including cash handling, reporting, price changes, merchandise handling, and opening/closing duties; reviews and submits payroll documentation accurately.
  3. Monitors sales activities and productivity; acknowledges, communicates, and motivates associates; trains to achieve full potential.
  4. Maintains customer awareness to enhance service and security; stays updated on policies regarding payments, exchanges, and security practices.
  5. Knows current sales and promotions; displays merchandise accordingly.
  6. Supports inventory receipt and dispatch following company policies.
  7. Supervises sales, inventory, cash reconciliation, and customer service associates; prepares weekly schedules for proper coverage.
  8. Models sales techniques, shares product knowledge, and assists customers in merchandise selection.
  9. Builds customer loyalty through clienteling and wardrobe styling.
  10. Maintains standards in merchandise presentation, loss prevention, and other duties.
  11. Participates in visual merchandising and store setup.
  12. Assists in staff development by interpreting KPI reports, coaching, and providing feedback for performance reviews.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned, noting duties may vary across brands.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Preferred: 2+ years retail or sales management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to travel within the district.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of store operations.
  • Physical requirements: standing, maneuvering, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, reaching, pushing/pulling.
  • Regular attendance required.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
