Job summary

Pet Valu is seeking a Sales Associate for our Komoka location. You will help Pet Parents with nutrition and product selections, work as part of a team of knowledgeable Pet Experts, and deliver friendly, informed service daily.

This role offers 32-40 hours per week with opportunities for training and advancement within one of North America’s leading pet retailers. If you love pets and enjoy helping customers, this is the position for you.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
• Reliable transportation to and from the store.

Responsibilities

• Cashier and customer sales.
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other paperwork.
• Placing small items into stock in the sales area.
• Store maintenance: sweeping, dusting and general upkeep.
• Assist in unloading deliveries (up to 50 lbs) and stock placement.
• Other duties and tasks as required.

What you do:

• Cashier and customer sales
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork
• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) including pet supplies, household items, etc. into stock in the sales area of the store
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions
• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs.)
• Other duties and tasks as required

Expected Hours:

32-40 hours/week
