Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands Canada—North Star Windows & Doors in St. Thomas, Ontario—seeks a motivated team player with a strong safety focus to join the production team. You will assemble, fabricate, and inspect windows and doors, prepare materials, operate tools and machinery, and help meet quality standards.

You’ll work in a physically active, safety-sensitive environment with rotating two-week shifts. A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are essential as you contribute

Qualifications

  • Experience in general labour, construction, or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Able to stand for a full shift.
  • Physically active production environment; able to lift 30–50 lbs.
  • Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
  • Manual dexterity and comfort handling materials.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Safety-conscious and 18+ years old, eligible to work in Canada.
  • Available for two-week rotating shifts and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fabricate, and inspect windows and doors to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Review work orders and prepare materials for production.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, pneumatic tools, welding equipment, and automated machinery.
  • Inspect finished products and report defects or quality concerns.
  • Prepare products for shipment, including packing, labeling, and loading.
  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support production goals and team performance targets.
  • Follow leadership direction and verify quality through measurement.
  • Adhere strictly to safety policies and wear required PPE.
  • Work respectfully and collaboratively as part of a team.

North Star Windows & Doors (St. Thomas, Ontario) is hiring a motivated team player with a strong safety focus and willingness to learn to join our Production Team.


As part of the team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Assemble, fabricate, and inspect windows and doors to meet quality standards and specifications

  • Review work orders and prepare materials for production

  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, pneumatic tools, welding equipment, and automated machinery

  • Inspect finished products and report defects or quality concerns

  • Prepare products for shipment, including packing, labeling, and loading

  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, and efficiency

  • Support production goals and team performance targets

  • Follow leadership direction and verify quality through measurement

  • Adhere strictly to safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Work respectfully and collaboratively as part of a team


Qualifications


  • Previous experience in general labour, construction, or manufacturing is preferred

  • Comfortable working in a physically active, safety sensitive production environment; able to lift and maneuver products (30-50 lbs, medium to heavy lifting)

  • Experience using hand tools and power tools

  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately

  • Safety-conscious

  • 18 years of age or older and eligible to work in Canada

  • Must be available for two-week rotating shifts

  • Must be available to work overtime and Saturdays when required
