Position: Full Time Probationary / Continuous Teacher - Counsellors

St. Peter the Apostle Catholic High School, serving grades 9-12 in Spruce Grove, AB, is seeking applicants for the role of High School Teacher-Counsellors. This 1.0 FTE position may involve a partial teaching assignment at the school as well as serving as one of the school’s Counsellors. The role supports students in academic, social, emotional, and career domains, starting August 26, 2025.

Qualifications and Assets

• Experience and training in VTRA (Violent Threat Risk Assessment) Level I and II
• Knowledge of Mental Health Literacy or Mental Health First Aid
• Master’s degree in counseling or equivalent coursework
• Strong interpersonal skills and a supportive approach
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Leadership skills in mental health, wellness, and connection
• Empathy, emotional understanding, and compassion
• Understanding of psycho-educational assessment and accommodations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in running social-emotional learning groups
