Full Time Pharmacy Manager, Winnipeg, MB
Northway Pharmacy is looking for a pharmacy manager (full time) to lead a team. Our pharmacies are community-centered practices committed to providing high quality health care for our patients. In this position, the pharmacy manager will be responsible for providing dispensing and clinical services to our patients, managing and directing staff, and ensuring the pharmacy meets all provincial regulations and standards. All applicants must demonstrate a dedication toward patient-centered care and take pride in providing outstanding customer service. We are looking to hire for this position ASAP.

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a B.Sc. (pharmacy) or PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • License to practice pharmacy in Manitoba and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM)
  • Certification to administer medications via an advanced method (i.e. administering injections)
  • Oral and written fluency in English
  • Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Act and CPhM’s Standards of Practice
  • Certification to prescribe minor ailments and treatment for smoking cessation and prescribing for uncomplicated cystitis considered an asset (Using an accredited program approved by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba)
  • Leadership/management experience in a pharmacy considered an asset
  • Experience with Kroll pharmacy software considered an asset

Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Comply with the Provincial Pharmaceutical Regulations, ensuring adherence to Provincial Practice Standards and Guidelines within pharmacy
  • Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely
  • Provide Patient Care Services while maintaining an excellent standard in customer service
  • Lead and direct pharmacy staff by delegating tasks, organizing workflow, and providing support
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other healthcare professionals and community access workers
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, improvement in workflow efficiencies, and continuous safety improvement
  • Provide specialized clinical services as deemed necessary by the pharmacy
  • Work with top management/ownership in the establishment and execution of pharmacy goals in several functional areas and provide reporting thereof

The successful candidate will display an interest in innovative pharmacy practice, have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task. All applicants will possess the ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other staff and healthcare professionals, and must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and make decisions in a thorough, but timely manner.
