Job description

Position: Full Time, Live In, Live Out, Nanny

Location: Hamptons, Long Island, New York

A family of four, in East Hampton, needs to hire a seasonal 5-day live in or local live out nanny to help care for their newborn and assist a hands-on stay at home parent. The majority of the role will be caring for the family’s toddler, with occasional assistance needed with the infant. Responsibilities include:

1. Engaging in age-appropriate play, both indoors and outdoors, with a willingness to be active and involved.
2. Helping to track milestones.
3. Preparing healthy meals.
4. Diaper & toilet training.
5. Preparing for other developmental steps when the time arises.
6. Assisting with the children’s laundry and child-related upkeep.
7. Occasional travel with the family, including to a second home in Manhattan.

The Nanny must be comfortable around water, CPR certified (or willing to get), and be up to date on vaccines. Valid passport and licensed drivers with reliable transportation are required. Teaching experience is a plus, as is familiarity with Montessori methods.

For live in applicants, there is a private bed and bath in guest house available October through April, but May through September, commuting to work will be required. Must be ok working in a home with pets.

Typical schedule would be a guaranteed 40 hours working Monday to Thursday from 3 to 9pm plus Saturday and Sunday coverage 3 weekends a month (10 hours per day). Salary $35-40/hr. May Start.
