Job summary

Pet Valu is seeking a Keyholder for Store 3306 Meredith Building, 16-4th St NE, Calgary, AB T2E 3R4. You will perform cashier duties, assist customers, and support day-to-day store operations.

The role requires at least 2 years in retail or customer service with a friendly, reliable personality and comfort with a POS system. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is valued, along with a commitment to safety and community engagement.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in retail or customer service.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Outgoing, friendly personality with strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Cashier and customer sales.
• Prepare merchandise orders, banking and paperwork.
• Stocking duties and general store maintenance.
• Open and close the store following company procedures.
• Assist in unloading deliveries and stocking items.
• Set daily goals and tasks when managers are absent.
• Other duties as required.

What you do:

• Cashier and customer sales
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork
• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) including pet supplies, household items, etc. into stock in the sales area of the store
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions
• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs.)
• Effectively open and close the store while following company procedures.
• In cases where the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager are not in the store, Keyholder may assign daily goals and tasks to ACEs.
• Other duties and tasks as required

What you bring:

• At least 2 years of experience in retail or customer service
• Working knowledge of POS system
• Possess outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to have reliable means of transportation to and from the store
• A valid driver’s license may be required
