Job summary

Pet Valu in Wainwright, AB is seeking a dependable Keyholder to support daily store operations, assist customers, manage cash and banking, and help maintain our friendly shopping environment for pets and their families.

You'll stock shelves, process orders, unload deliveries, open/close the store, and coordinate tasks when leadership is absent. A 2+ year retail or customer service background and a valid driver's license are preferred; flexible scheduling is available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in retail or customer service preferred.
• Proven ability to assist customers and handle cash responsibly.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cashier and customer sales.
• Prepare merchandise orders, banking and other paperwork.
• Stock small items (≤10 lbs) in sales area.
• Sweep, dust and perform store maintenance.
• Unload deliveries and stock items up to 50 lbs.
• Open and close store following procedures.
• Help ACEs with daily goals when managers are unavailable.
• Other duties as required.

What you do:

• Cashier and customer sales
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork
• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) including pet supplies, household items, etc. into stock in the sales area of the store
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions
• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs.)
• Effectively open and close the store while following company procedures.
• In cases where the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager are not in the store, Keyholder may assign daily goals and tasks to ACEs.
• Other duties and tasks as required

What you bring:

• At least 2 years of experience in retail or customer service
• Working knowledge of POS system
• Possess outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to have reliable means of transportation to and from the store
• A valid driver's license may be required
