Sodexo is hiring a Full-Time Housekeeper to join our dedicated Environmental Services team at University Hospital, part of London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario. In this essential role, you’ll help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

As a valued member of our housekeeping team, you provide exceptional cleaning and sanitation services that contribute directly to patient safety and comfort. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • *Thoroughly cleaning rooms, washrooms, hallways, windows, carpets, and high-touch surfaces
  • *Maintaining cleanliness of light fixtures, furniture, vents, and mattresses
  • · Making and changing beds
  • · Dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors
  • · Replenishing hygiene supplies
  • · Emptying garbage and biohazard containers
  • · Setting up furniture and performing minor repairs or reporting maintenance needs
  • · Adhering strictly to infection prevention, safety, and healthcare standards
  • · Working closely with fellow team members and hospital staff to ensure timely service

Schedule Details:

Shift: 4th Floor Surge/5th Floor CCIT

  • M: 1000-1800
  • T: OFF
  • W: OFF
  • TH: 1000-1800
  • F: 1000-1800
  • Sat: 1000-1800
  • Sun: 1000-1800

Flexibility is important as schedules may change based on department needs.

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for long periods, and handle equipment
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and safety standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vulnerable Sector Background Check and up-to-date immunization records
  • At least 1 year of housekeeping or custodial experience—healthcare setting experience is a strong asset
