Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in grades K-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA’s mission is to Teach Truth, Inspire Excellence, Experience Christ and Serve through Love. GCA has a head of school, two principals and a staff of over 120 serving approximately 1000 students.
GCA has an opportunity for a maternity leave, 1.0 FTE Jr. High Teacher. Under the direction and mentorship of the Jr. High Principal, this individual will be responsible for a Grade 6 Language Arts and Social Studies classroom. This position is a term contract from August 25, 2025 to January 30, 2026.

- Have strong, positive interpersonal skills
- Be willing to contribute to the school’s extracurricular program
- Efficient, highly organized, and capable of multitasking
- Ability to make sound judgment and decisions
- Agrees to and adheres to the GCA Statement of Faith – without reservation
- Is able to clearly express his or her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour
- Bachelor of Education
- AB Permanent or Interim Certificate
- AB Letter of Authority
- Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, digital delivery and field trips
- Design effective strategies to meet the children’s diverse learning needs
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Fluent in English
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Proven attention to detail, organizational and documenting / tracking skills, as well as analytical problem-solving abilities

- Minimum of three professional references that can be contacted
- A statement of faith
- Pastoral reference (recent within three months)
- A criminal record check will be required of the successful applicant
